The Art of Ownership tells the story of bookplates from the late Middle Ages to the present day. I began work on the exhibition as an intern at the Rosenbach in spring, 2014, and served as consulting curator on the show, identifying objects for inclusion from eleven institutions, including the Library Company of Philadelphia, the Winterthur Library, the Rare Book Department of the Free Library of Philadelphia, and the Delaware Academy of Medicine. I identified close to 100 objects to include in the show, researched and wrote wall labels and wall didactics, planned publicity for the show. Read a story about the show here and a review here. The gallery guide for the exhibition, including all object label text, is available here.
