PictureBookshelves at the German Society of Pennsylvania Library in Philadelphia.
This fundraising program for the German Society of Pennsylvania
Library (founded 1817) was designed to accomplish three goals: first,
to raise money to conserve damaged library holdings; second,
to spread awareness of the collection and its contents among the Library's stakeholders; and third, to build a culture of giving centered
on library materials.

As a member of the Library Committee, I wrote the proposal for the project, collaborated with the Society librarian and an outside conservator to select books for conservation treatment, developed
all promotional materials including a catalogue and solicitation letter,
and served as liaison for prospective "parents."  I also worked to
publicize the program via social media and articles for the German Society's newsletter, the Staatsbote. In fall, 2018, the Library
Committee unveiled a holiday-themed book adoption catalogue that
I created (see below).

To date, the project has raised $10,120 for the preservation
of 41 books.
